The World Food Platform South Asia is a regional initiative developed to address the scale, diversity, and urgency of food system challenges across South Asia. Home to a large share of the world's population, the region faces persistent pressures related to food security, nutrition, water scarcity, climate stress, and rural livelihoods, while remaining a critical contributor to global agricultural output. The World Food Platform South Asia provides a structured space to bring governments, development institutions, agribusinesses, cooperatives, researchers, and investors together to address these challenges through coordinated action.
The Platform focuses on improving productivity, strengthening food resilience, enhancing nutrition outcomes, and reducing post-harvest losses.
